On January 9, 2023, at approximately 2:47 a.m., Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1800 block of Franklin Avenue, near Charleston Boulevard and Eastern Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered 39-year-old Jose Antonio Soto lying unresponsive in the street with apparent gunshot wounds. Medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
