In the early morning hours of March 29, 2019, a dispute over a few cases of beer at a Las Vegas convenience store tragically escalated, ending the life of 56-year-old Robert Lee Cook, a Black / African American male. The incident unfolded shortly before 6:15 a.m. at the Stateside Express located at 950 Las Vegas Boulevard North. Cook, accompanied by a woman, attempted to leave the store without paying for at least three cases of beer.
