Brandon Strauss, a 21-year-old with disabilities including Down syndrome, epilepsy, and autism, tragically died on February 21, 2017, in Las Vegas. He suffered severe burns over 12% of his body while in the shower, reportedly due to a seizure. His parents, who applied ointment and bandages but delayed seeking medical attention, found him unresponsive days later. The autopsy revealed lethal levels of medication in his system.
