On the night of February 21, 2025, a tragic and senseless act of violence claimed the life of 19-year-old Rawan Mohamed Baseti, an Arab American woman from Dearborn Heights, Michigan. The fatal encounter began around 10 p.m. near the intersection of Warren Avenue and the Southfield Freeway Service Drive in Detroit. Rawan was driving her black 2018 Jeep Cherokee, with two female friends as passengers, when they were reportedly cut off by a white 2015 Chrysler 200.
