On the night of May 3, 2025, Boston police responded to reports of a shooting in the Dorchester neighborhood, specifically at the intersection of Blue Hill Avenue and Georgia Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 35-year-old Shakar Caterson, a male resident of Dorchester, suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel transported him to Boston Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.
