On January 16, 1908, Patrolman John T. Lynch of the Boston Police Department met a tragic end while performing his duties. Lynch, who was 27 years old at the time of his death, was involved in a pursuit of three suspects who had just committed a robbery at a store located at 364 Washington Street in Boston.
