On May 1, 2025, around 11:10 PM, Prince George's County police officers responded to gunshots in the Landover area. Officers discovered 30-year-old James Kibler suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the 8100 block of Allendale Drive, near Northwest Stadium in the Hyattsville area. Kibler was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
