In the early morning hours of May 3, 2025, a large crowd gathered in the parking lot of a Kroger on West Broadway in Louisville, Kentucky. The festive atmosphere of Oaks Night was shattered just after 2 a.m. when gunfire erupted, leading to a triple shooting. Among the victims was 21-year-old Autumn Seelye, a White/Caucasian female who was fatally wounded in the incident. Another man, 28-year-old Martez McAtee, also lost his life in the shooting.
First responders rushed to the chaotic scene at Broadway and 28th Street, where they found Seelye and McAtee. Both were transported to UofL Hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries.
