Angel Torres, a 19-year-old male from Cathedral City, California, was fatally shot on January 20, 2025. The incident occurred in a residence on Nilda Drive, where Torres and a 19-year-old woman were found with gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving efforts, Torres succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while the woman was transported to a hospital in critical but stable condition.
Authorities later identified the suspect as 30-year-old Adrian Silva Vizcaino, who was Torres' half-brother.
Investigators determined that Vizcaino entered the residence, encountered Torres and the woman in a bedroom, and opened fire. Following the shooting, Vizcaino fled the scene and committed an armed robbery at a nearby convenience store before driving to San Bernardino County, where he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
