David Chavez, a 38-year-old man, was shot and killed on December 19, 2015, in Cathedral City, California. The tragic incident took place near the city's well-known "Candy Cane Lane," a popular destination for holiday light displays. Chavez and his pregnant girlfriend were both struck by gunfire during the shooting, which also claimed the life of their unborn child.
