Rashod Barrett, a 17-year-old Black male, was found fatally shot on January 24, 2025, in Columbus, Georgia. Authorities responded to the scene at the 6500 block of Buena Vista Road around 5:25 p.m. after receiving a report of a deceased individual. Emergency medical personnel attempted to resuscitate Barrett but were unsuccessful, and Deputy Coroner Elizabeth Allison pronounced him dead at 6:06 p.m.
