On the evening of February 12, 2025, 16-year-old African American male Chance Jamal Zager Johnson was shot in the Elk Run Subdivision on High Country Drive in Douglasville, Georgia. Emergency responders arrived around 8:26 p.m. and found Chance with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he underwent multiple hours of emergency surgery but succumbed to his injuries early the next morning on February 13, 2025.
