Jarmichael Jermoine Brown, a 31-year-old African American man, was fatally shot on June 12, 2021, in Douglasville, Georgia. The incident occurred just before 11 a.m. inside an apartment at the Millwood Park Apartments on Duralee Lane, following reports of a domestic dispute. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered Brown, a resident of Powder Springs, with a gunshot wound and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into Brown's death quickly led authorities to identify 39-year-old Kaiysa Nadinsa Robinson as the primary suspect. A warrant was issued for her arrest, charging her with murder. However, Robinson managed to evade capture for five months, and investigators believed she had fled the state, possibly to the New York area. A $2,500 reward was offered for information leading to her arrest.
After a five-month manhunt, Kaiysa Nadinsa Robinson was apprehended in November 2021. Following her arrest, she was indicted by a grand jury on a charge of malice murder in January 2022. She was subsequently held in the Douglas County jail without bond.
