On the evening of March 18, 2025, Kamari McMillen, a 30-year-old Black woman from Chicago, was fatally shot on the 69th Street CTA Red Line platform in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood. The incident occurred around 9:46 p.m. Prior to the shooting, McMillen and her girlfriend, 28-year-old Tiara Lee-Roberts, had attended a family dinner together.
