In the quiet morning hours of March 12, 2025, the life of 36-year-old Clarence McGauhey, a male resident of Indianapolis, was tragically cut short. The calm was shattered by the sound of gunfire outside a motel on the city's south side, in the 4900 block of South East Street, near Thompson Road. The incident was reported to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department shortly before 7:30 a.m.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered McGauhey suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, but despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries early the next day, on Thursday, March 13. The Marion County Coroner's Office later formally identified him.
