In the autumn of 2014, a life was cut short in Indianapolis, Indiana. A 25-year-old man, Derrick Thomas, was fatally shot on the evening of October 30th. The incident unfolded at the Carriage House East Apartments, located in the 1100 block of Ellis Drive, an area known for its struggles with crime.
