On April 20, 2025, the body of Angela Yajahira Cortes Villegas, a 20-year-old Hispanic woman from Utah, was discovered in a wooded area near Crest Lawn Memorial Park along Marietta Boulevard NW in northwest Atlanta. Responding to a report of an unresponsive person at approximately 5:54 p.m., Atlanta police officers found her with multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene. At the time, she carried no identification, and her identity remained unknown.
