Just moments into the new year, the life of 35-year-old Andrea Martinez was tragically cut short in what became the first homicide in Colorado Springs in 2025. On January 1, 2025, a little after midnight, police were called to the 5800 block of Oakwood Boulevard, where they discovered Martinez deceased. An investigation quickly determined that she had been shot, and her death was ruled a homicide.
