Eugene Coleman Jr., 51, a Black man, was shot late on Saturday, June 21, 2014, in a north Omaha neighborhood and died of his wounds, according to police. Officers responded around nightfall and found he had been struck by gunfire; the case was immediately opened as a homicide investigation.
