On the morning of January 21, 2025, the life of Jerrick Wayne Holden, a 45-year-old Black male, came to a tragic and abrupt end in Little Rock, Arkansas. At approximately 8:52 a.m., officers from the Southwest Patrol Division were dispatched to 5325 Asher Avenue following a report of a person down. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mr. Holden suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical personnel were called to the scene, but his injuries were too severe, and he was pronounced dead.
The area was quickly secured by law enforcement, and a homicide investigation was launched. Detectives began canvassing the neighborhood, speaking with potential witnesses to piece together the events that led to the fatal shooting. The Crime Scene Search Unit arrived to process the scene for evidence. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner's Office transported Holden's body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy to determine the official cause of death. On January 25, 2025, the Little Rock Police Department arrested 27-year-old Rahim Muhammad in connection with the killing. Muhammad, a resident of Little Rock, was subsequently charged with capital murder. Jerrick, affectionately known to friends and family as “Tanka” or “TDK”, was remembered as a hardworking and skilled mechanic. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, on September 19, 1979, he was described as the life of the party, with a love for dancing, rapping, and sharing his music collection. His presence was a source of joy to those who knew him. He was a father to several children and left behind a large and loving family to cherish his memory.
