In the spring of 2018, the life of 21-year-old Robert Lewis Rockett was tragically cut short in Little Rock, Arkansas. On a Tuesday in late March, he was discovered by his own brother, slumped inside a car on the 2100 block of Tyler Street. The young man from Benton was suffering from gunshot wounds.
Responding police officers immediately began to administer CPR in a desperate attempt to save him.
He was then rushed to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences hospital, but his injuries proved to be too severe, and he was pronounced dead. The incident marked the city's 11th homicide of the year.
In the days that followed, the investigation into Rockett's death led authorities to a suspect. Quincy Deterell Braxton, a 22-year-old from Little Rock, was arrested in connection with the killing. Braxton was taken into custody and subsequently faced a litany of serious charges, including capital murder, fleeing, and possession of firearms by certain persons. He was booked into the Pulaski County Jail and held without bond as the legal process began to unfold.
