In the early morning hours of May 3, 2025, tragedy struck in Little Rock, Arkansas, when 21-year-old Sergio Toney, an African American male, was fatally shot. The Little Rock Police Department received a call around 5:38 a.m. and dispatched officers to a residence at 3010 South Cross Street. Upon their arrival, they discovered Toney inside, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency medical personnel were called to the scene and attempted to save his life, but his injuries proved to be
too severe, and he was pronounced dead at the residence. In the course of their initial investigation, police were alerted that three other individuals had arrived at local hospitals with gunshot wounds believed to be connected to the same incident. These individuals were identified as Demario Harvey, Jason Davis, and Brody Hill. Toney's body was later taken to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy as homicide detectives began to piece together the events of that morning.
The investigation into the shooting continued, and on May 30, 2025, the Little Rock Police Department announced that two arrests had been made in connection with Sergio Toney's death. Eighteen-year-old Brodie Hill and 20-year-old Dylon Andrews were taken into custody. Both men were charged with capital murder. In addition to the murder charge, Hill also faces a charge of first-degree battery. The investigation into the shooting is still ongoing.
