In the early evening of Saturday, January 18, 2025, a violent altercation on Theodore-Dawes Road, just off Interstate 10 in Mobile, Alabama, claimed the lives of three men. Among them was 28-year-old Angel Esparra. The other victims were identified as Marco Alvarado, 24, and Christon Aponte, 30. The incident that led to the fatal encounter reportedly began with a car chase that crossed state lines from Mississippi into Alabama.
The investigation into the triple homicide quickly led
authorities to identify a suspect who had fled to Puerto Rico in the wake of the killings. This individual was later apprehended and extradited to Mobile to face charges in connection with the deaths of Esparra, Alvarado, and Aponte. The motive behind the deadly dispute is believed to have stemmed from an ongoing conflict.
Further developments in the case saw the arrest of a second defendant, who was booked into the Metro Jail in March 2025. This second arrest indicated that investigators believed more than one individual was involved in the events that culminated in the tragic deaths of the three men. The case against the suspects is now proceeding through the judicial system, with a grand jury set to hear the evidence.
