On the night of February 11, 2025, law enforcement officers responded to reports of a shooting in Midfield, Alabama, a suburb of Birmingham. Upon arrival at the residence located on Rayfield Drive, deputies discovered De’arrius Denard Starks, a 21-year-old African American male, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
