In the early morning hours of a Saturday in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, a gathering at a storage unit facility on Greensboro Avenue took a tragic turn, ending the life of 28-year-old Autumn Monea Mack. The get-together, held in one of the storage units, was disrupted by a verbal argument that escalated into a fatal altercation.
During the dispute, Autumn was shot and killed.
When Tuscaloosa Police officers responded to a call about the shooting at approximately 5 a.m., they found her deceased at the scene from a gunshot wound. The investigation that followed, led by the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, involved interviews with numerous witnesses, processing of physical evidence from the scene, and the execution of multiple search warrants.
Based on the evidence gathered, authorities identified 28-year-old Shaquan Lavar Knight as the suspect in Autumn's death. Later that same day, Knight was located and apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Task Force. He has since been charged with murder and is being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail without bond.
