On May 3, 2025, 19-year-old Josiah Slocum, an African American male from Montgomery, Alabama, was fatally shot in the early morning hours. At approximately 2:50 a.m., Montgomery police officers responded to a local hospital following reports of a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, they were informed that Josiah Slocum had succumbed to life-threatening injuries sustained from a gunshot wound.
