Gina Wilson Green, a 41-year-old woman, was tragically murdered in her Baton Rouge home on September 24, 2001. She was the first known victim linked to the Baton Rouge serial killer, Derrick Todd Lee, who was later convicted for multiple murders in the area. Green was found strangled after failing to show up for work, a discovery that devastated her family and community. Her mother, Margaret Wilson, described Green as a loving and dedicated nurse who worked tirelessly to help others.
