In a Baton Rouge hotel room, a grim discovery was made on the evening of Sunday, January 12, 2025, marking a violent end to the life of 56-year-old Linda Mayes. Her body was found at the Regency Inn on Gwenadele Avenue shortly before 6:30 p.m. Responding officers from the Baton Rouge Police Department noted that she had sustained trauma to her body, and her death was immediately investigated as a homicide.

suspect. On Friday, January 24, 2025, the U.S. Marshal's Office and Baton Rouge Police apprehended 31-year-old Donald Ray Walker. He was taken into custody in front of the Lake Towers Apartment Complex located on North 9th Street.
Following his arrest, Donald Ray Walker was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
