On March 6, 2001, 18-year-old Candriea White was tragically killed in her Linden Hill apartment in Kansas City, Missouri. A mother of two, she was viciously attacked in her own home. The assailant, armed with a knife, chased her from room to room before overpowering her in the kitchen.
The attack was brutal; she was stabbed fourteen times and her throat was slit.
In a chilling detail, her infant children were present in the apartment at the time of the murder but were left physically unharmed by the killer. The discovery was made later that afternoon when a neighbor noticed her front door was ajar and, upon looking inside, found her body.
The perpetrator was later identified as Daniel O. Jones. His connection to White's murder was made after he was arrested for another crime. DNA evidence linked him to a series of other murders, and during questioning, he confessed to the killing of Candriea White. Jones was ultimately convicted for his crimes and received multiple life sentences.
