Sonya Higginbotham, a 19-year-old woman, was tragically murdered in her Oakland home in June 1975. She was found sexually assaulted and stabbed to death. Her case was later linked to Charles Jackson Jr., an American serial killer known as "The East Bay Slayer," who was responsible for multiple murders in the San Francisco Bay area between 1975 and 1982.
