In 1986, a man came forward claiming that on September 3, 1977, he had given a ride to a girl matching Simone's description. He said a state trooper had stopped him on Route 128 in Westwood, Massachusetts, and asked him to drive the girl to Cape Cod, as that was her destination. The man stated he dropped her off near the Hyannis Airport Rotary, but Simone has never been heard from again. This account remains unconfirmed, and investigators suspect foul play.
