A few days later, the same witness reportedly saw Pena and another individual struggling to carry a large, rolled-up blanket out of the building in the early morning hours. The investigation gained significant momentum in 2017 when another witness came forward, claiming to have helped Pena dispose of a body wrapped in carpeting and a blanket in a wooded area near Boston shortly after Felicia was last seen.
For years, Felicia McGuyer's case remained a painful mystery for her loved ones. In January 2023, a major breakthrough occurred when David Pena was arrested in Florida and charged with her murder. Following his arrest, the case took another turn. In August 2023, Pena led authorities to Felicia's skeletal remains. In a subsequent development in January 2024, the murder charge against Pena was dropped. Prosecutors stated that in exchange for him revealing the location of her body, they entered into a plea agreement where he pleaded guilty to an unrelated cocaine trafficking charge. The resolution of the case, while providing some measure of closure by bringing Felicia home, underscores the long and arduous journey her family endured, holding onto hope and seeking answers for over a decade.
