Terry Love, a 20-year-old man from Oakland, California, was tragically killed on January 16, 1999. His death was part of a violent spree carried out by Mervin Ray Hughes, a 41-year-old man whom authorities described as a "cold-blooded predator." Hughes was responsible for multiple shootings in East Oakland, targeting individuals he mostly did not know. Love was fatally shot on Seminary Avenue, one of the locations where Hughes carried out his attacks.
