John Butkovich, an 18-year-old Croatian American male, tragically lost his life on July 31, 1975, in Norwood Park Township, Cook County, Illinois. His death was the result of strangulation, a heinous act committed by the infamous serial killer John Wayne Gacy. Butkovich had been employed by Gacy's construction company, PDM Contractors, and had recently confronted Gacy over unpaid wages. This confrontation escalated into a fatal encounter, marking the end of Butkovich's life.
