On April 11, 2018, Tyler Police arrested William George Davis, a 34-year-old nurse, on charges of murder. Davis was accused of deliberately harming patients under his care, and Frank was identified as a possible victim in the ongoing investigation. Legal documents listed Frank among several individuals who had suffered unexplained medical complications, raising suspicions that Davis may have played a role in his death.
