On August 13, 2008, 19-year-old Denver Kenneth Cannedy Jr., known affectionately as "Lil Kenny," was discovered with gunshot wounds to his upper body in the 6100 block of Old Central Avenue in Capitol Heights, Maryland. He was promptly transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
