On a tragic Fourth of July in 2017, Charles Edward Watson Jr., a 46-year-old male from Halethorpe, Maryland, was fatally shot in the Arbutus area of Baltimore County. The deadly encounter unfolded in the 1000 block of South Beechfield Avenue, where Watson was visiting his girlfriend. An argument erupted between Watson and 27-year-old Raymond Vladas Armalis Jr.
shortly before 8 p.m.
The dispute escalated when Armalis went inside the residence, retrieved a handgun, and came back outside, where he shot Watson at least once in the upper body. A neighbor's call to 911 brought police to the scene. First responders administered aid to Watson before he was transported to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
Raymond Vladas Armalis Jr. was arrested at the scene without incident. He was subsequently charged with first- and second-degree murder and was held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center. Police stated that the argument between the two men was the reason for the shooting.
