Jeremi Berry, a 17-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on June 28, 2013. He and his twin brother, Jonathan Berry, were gunned down inside their home in Wylam, Birmingham, Alabama. The incident also left their mother, LaTasha Berry, paralyzed from the waist down after being shot moments before her sons were killed. The Berry twins' deaths were a devastating blow to their family and community, who gathered for their funeral on July 6, 2013, to mourn and celebrate their lives.
