A man shot to death Monday night was a father of a little girl and had a family who loved him, but he couldn't seem to break free from his struggle on the streets.

Jeremy Thompson, 30, was shot multiple times about 7:30 p.m. at Interstate 59 and Avenue I. "He was a good kid, a hard-working kid who had some tough breaks in life,'' said his uncle, Bobby Thompson. "He was just a boy struggling trying to make it in this life."
