On a Memorial Day in 2017, a 30-year-old Caucasian male named Jeremy Thompson was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred on May 29, 2017, near the intersection of Interstate 59/20 and Avenue I. Thompson, a father who had a love for sports and the outdoors, had been struggling with heroin addiction and was periodically living on the streets.
