Steven Spurlin Hale, a 28-year-old white male, disappeared from Indianapolis, Indiana, on April 1, 1994. His remains were discovered on June 24, 1996, on the property of Herb Baumeister, a businessman and suspected serial killer. Baumeister was known for luring young gay men to his Fox Hollow Farm estate in Westfield, Indiana, where he sexually assaulted, killed, and dismembered them. Hale's remains were identified on September 12, 1996, through DNA testing.
