Perry Floyd Patton, a 26-year-old male officer with the Munday Police Department in Texas, tragically lost his life on May 28, 1989. Patton was responding to a robbery call at a local convenience store when he encountered the suspect one block away. A struggle ensued, during which the suspect managed to gain control of Patton's weapon and fatally shot him. The suspect then stole Patton's patrol car and fled the scene.
