A life filled with kindness, laughter, and generosity was cut short when Sebastian John Robles, a 26-year-old male, was shot and killed in San Antonio, Texas. Born on November 28, 1999, Sebastian was remembered by his mother as a friendly and outgoing man who was known for helping neighborhood children fix their bicycles. He was survived by his loving mother, Audrey Robles, a sister, Brittany, and a brother, Jonathan.
He was predeceased by his father, Gilbert Robles, and left behind his grandparents, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews who will miss him greatly.
The fatal encounter happened just before 1 a.m. on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at the Reveria Apartments in the 3200 block of Bolmore Drive on the city's Southeast Side. According to the San Antonio Police Department, Sebastian was in the courtyard of the apartment complex where he lived with his mother. Accounts of what led to the shooting vary. Police initially reported that Sebastian's family was having an argument outside when a neighbor tried to intervene. After a brief exchange, both parties returned to their apartments. A short time later, the family was arguing in the courtyard again when the neighbor came out of his second-floor apartment and opened fire.
Sebastian's mother, Audry Robles, provided a different account, stating there was no family argument. She said that her son and daughter had just returned home when the neighbor knocked on their door. Sebastian told him it was too late and closed the door. She said the neighbor became upset, and Sebastian later went outside. The neighbor, from his second-floor balcony, then fired at Sebastian in the courtyard below. Audry recalled the suspect saying he was only trying to scare her son. She heard the shots and ran to her son, holding him in her arms and telling him she loved him in his final moments.
Sebastian suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his torso, including the neck and upper chest. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. When police arrived at the scene, the suspect fled on foot but was quickly located and apprehended by officers.
The suspect was identified as Sebastian's 41-year-old neighbor, Terry DeWayne Clark. He was arrested and booked into the Bexar County Jail on charges of murder and evading arrest. According to court records, Clark was on probation for a 2021 controlled substance conviction and had outstanding warrants for prohibited weapons, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, and driving while intoxicated. A judge ordered him held without bond.
In the aftermath, Audry Robles recalled the suspect coming downstairs after the shooting, touching her son, and saying, "Oh, s---, I really shot him." Despite her immense grief, she expressed a message of forgiveness, shaped by her son's belief in not holding onto anger. "I forgive you," she said, addressing Clark through the media. "But you do have to be accountable for the decision you made that night. I hope you get the help you need." Neighbors at the apartment complex created a memorial for Sebastian in the courtyard where he was shot. His family established a GoFundMe campaign to help with burial expenses. A viewing and prayer service were held on October 7, 2026, followed by a graveside service at Eastview Cemetery on October 8. As of October 2026, the case against Terry Clark is proceeding through the court system.
