Sergeant Stephen Edward Davenport, aged 35, was a dedicated officer with the Limestone County Sheriff's Office in Texas. On May 2, 2002, while serving as a member of the Heart of Texas Auto Theft Task Force, he was tragically shot and killed in an ambush in Shive, Hamilton County. Sergeant Davenport and his fellow officers were attempting to search a rural property for stolen farm equipment when the incident occurred.
