Rodney Demarist Rone, a 46-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on September 30, 2014, in Dallas, Texas. Rone, who worked as an unarmed security guard at the Bruton Beer and Wine Mart on the 2000 block of Masters Drive, was shot multiple times during an attempted robbery. He was locking the door with another employee when three armed men confronted them. Rone attempted to stop the robbery but was immediately shot by the assailants.
