On August 12, 2002, Anthony Garcia and his friend Mark Anaya were fatally shot while sitting inside Anthony's vehicle, a red Pontiac Firebird, which was pulled over in the 5400 block of Douglas Road SW in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Both victims died from multiple gunshot wounds. Mark Anaya succumbed to a gunshot wound to the head, while Anthony Garcia suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
