On February 18, 2019, 43-year-old Leroy Zamora was fatally shot at the Crossroads Motel near Central Avenue and Interstate 25 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. According to prosecutors, Zamora was seated in the passenger seat of a car when Vicente Rivera, then 35, allegedly shot him from the driver's seat. After being shot, Zamora exited the vehicle, took several steps, and collapsed in the motel's parking lot.
