On December 5, 2016, a tragic event occurred in Albuquerque, New Mexico, resulting in the deaths of three young children: Ian Matthew Mascarenas, Olivia Renee Mascarenas, and Elijah 'Eli' Ray Mascarenas. Ian, who was 9 years old at the time of his death, was a fourth-grader at Manzano Mesa Elementary School.
