In the crisp autumn air of October 17, 2014, the life of 23-year-old Kyle Ntiforo, an African-American male, was tragically cut short in Albuquerque, New Mexico. A former high school track star and a personal trainer, Kyle was known for his warm smile and loving personality. He was a caring son, brother, and uncle who was deeply family-oriented and enjoyed working out with his younger brothers.

Albuquerque spilled out into an alley. It was there that Kyle was fatally shot. The incident left his family and friends grappling with a sudden and violent loss. For over a year, the case remained a painful open wound for his loved ones as they awaited answers and justice.
In January of 2016, a significant breakthrough in the investigation brought a glimmer of hope for resolution. Authorities announced the arrest of 25-year-old Tory Burdex, who was charged with an open count of murder and conspiracy to commit a first-degree felony in connection with Kyle's death. According to the criminal complaint, Kyle's younger brother was a witness to the shooting and was able to identify Burdex from a photo lineup. At the time of Tory Burdex's arrest, police stated they were also searching for his younger brother as another person of interest in the case.
