Michael Goulbourne, aged 14, was shot and killed on May 8, 2009, during a robbery at his family's food stand in north St. Louis, Missouri. The incident took place at the Mi Hungry barbecue stand, located at 1206 N. Kingshighway, where Michael was working alongside his father. Around 8:30 p.m., as they were closing up for the day, a blue, late-1980s or early-1990s Pontiac pulled up with four occupants. Two of the individuals exited the car, announced a robbery, and demanded cash and jewelry.
