Patrick West, aged 26, was fatally shot on July 1, 2017, in St. Louis, Missouri. He was one of many victims in a year that saw a surge in violence throughout the city. The incident occurred near the Walnut Park East neighborhood, which is known for its elevated crime rates. St. Louis Metropolitan Police officers responded to reports of gunfire and discovered West with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical attention, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
